W dniach 15-20 stycznia 2011r. Zespół Ewaluacyjny i Zespół Zarządzający Projektem odbędą wizytę studyjną w Leeds w Wielkiej Brytanii.  The UK often sees itself as a leader in innovative educational policy and practice and has established a range of successful school-based activities aimed at stimulating higher levels of educational attainment. In particular, project based learning within the UK has led the way in creating more dynamic and effective teaching methods which have provided an 'alternative' and highly effective learning approaches for young people. The ways in which the UK has successfully developed and implemented project based learning will be the focus of the visit planned for January. The visit would give delegates a chance to learn from good practice in the UK, it will provide them with practical and real life examples of project based learning at the school level and an opportunity to discuss and question those who have first hand experience of the project based learning agenda.     The location of the visit would be the Yorkshire and Humber region of the UK, based in the city of Leeds (the UK's third largest city). Although Leeds is a highly successful city (in terms of reinventing its economic base away from traditional/ low skilled sectors) it has sometimes struggled in terms of its education attainment levels among 13-16 year olds. This has led the city authorities to develop a range of new teaching methods and approaches under the guise of project based learning. This makes it a good location from which to base the visit.  Program wizyty 17th January 2011 9:00am    Welcome and Introduction: Tim Fox (Associate Director at Ecorys UK) 9:30am    Transport to Cockburn Secondary School, Leeds. 10:00am  Visit to Cockburn Secondary School, a school located in the suburbs of Leeds in a deprived neighbourhood.                The school has seen significant improvements in its education attainment performance over recent years.                The session would include a tour of the school, a presentation and discussion from senior staff                 on project based learning and lunch. 1.00pm     Return back to Leeds Centre 1:15pm     Orientation and key facts about education in the UK: Tim Fox 1:45pm     Finish 18th January 2011  9:30am    Meet at Reception of Hotel 10.00am   Royal Armouries Museum: introduction to 'thematic' learning outside of the school environment.                Tour and presentation with the Education Facilitator. 12:00am   Lunch  1:00pm     Project based learning in Context: Jenny Molyneux/ Tim Fox (Ecorys UK)  2:00pm     Close 19th January 2011 8:30am     Travel to Harrogate. 9:30am     Harlow Carr Education Learning Centre: A new purpose build education centre focused                on the theme of horticulture linked to cross curricular activity associated to science, health and art.                Tour and discussion with the Education Co-ordinator. 11:00am   Traditional English Tea and Cake at 'Bettys Tea Room'. 11:30am   Free time exploring Royal Horticultural Society Northern Gardens.  1.00pm   Train back to Leeds  2.00pm    Leeds Ahead: Presentation on the Leeds Ahead model focused on involving                 the private sector in project based learning.  2:45pm    Close |
